Who will I help?

When was the last time you went into a Post Office, High-Street Bank or filled in a paper form? Nearly everything is done online these days, with ‘offline’ alternatives slowly becoming a thing of the past.

But that leaves the 3.8 million households who do not have internet access at home. These families – who by definition are often already deprived - are increasingly isolated from access to services we take for granted.

Bromley by Bow’s Digital Inclusion program helps people with limited IT skills access important services from applying for Job Seeker’s Allowances to seeking financial support.

How will I help?

If you use the internet on an everyday basis, you don’t need any specific skills or experience to volunteer at Bromley by Bow Centre, just a little patience.

You are likely to be lending basic IT skills to a user on a 1-2-1 basis, helping them:

• Do research online
• Set up an email account
• Sign up for online services e.g. Government Gateway account
• Apply for support e.g. JSA
