Who will I help?

Challenges Worldwide is an international development charity that provides support, skills and guidance for small to medium sized businesses in Africa.

The charity is part of the International Citizenship Service (ICS) programme and trains British young people to be Business Support Associates before sending them out on 10-12 week placements to work with an SME in Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda or Zambia. They empower young people on the ICS programme with the skills needed to help businesses grow around the world.

They then continue to support these young people when they return to the UK through their vast ICS alumni network; providing support, employment advice and training opportunities.

How will I help?

You will support Challenges Worldwide’s ICS alumni in the UK with an insight into the professional work place. This opportunity has two tiers:

Route A: Support alumni with a virtual mentorship session

• Reviewing a young person’s CV and LinkedIn Profile
• Providing remote employability advice via Skype

Route B: Write a professional development article for the Challenges website

• Sharing your professional experience and advice with young people
• Identifying top tips for career development

Volunteering remotely will help to inspire young people from across the UK and support them in getting their foot in the door of the professional world.
