Glengall Wharf Garden
Join a health and wellbeing community project, growing medicinal herbs, fruit and veg in Peckham
Who will I help?
Have you ever felt confined to your home after a week in bed with the flu?
For many people with long term health problems, social isolation is a real threat: Opportunities to get out of the house or meet a friend might be rare.
Every week Glengall Wharf Garden organises Herb Tuesday to bring vulnerable people from the local community together. The therapeutic power of working in these wonderful gardens helps people with long term health problems improve their physical and mental well being.
How will I help?
Your volunteering will make an important contribution to maintaining and developing this beautiful garden in Peckham. It will also give vulnerable people a chance to get out and about in a green environment and improve their well being.
You will use your green fingers to:
• Help vulnerable volunteers with their work around the garden.
• Planting, seeding and repairing things.
• Share a healthy lunch with fresh salad from the garden.
You will help maintain a green, interactive community space for those who need it most!
