Marchmont Community Centre: Tablet Support
Share your skills to help older people learn to use Google, Skype and get the most out of the world wide web.
Who will I help?
How do you stay in touch with family members in another city or country?
The ‘Super Connect’ sessions at Marchmont Community Centre help older people connect through modern technology and become IT literate enough to find their way on the web.
This wonderful charity helps older people to stay in touch with their family and friends through Skype, keep up with the news and learn through Google and watch their favourite shows on BBC iPlayer or Youtube. Become part of this intergenerational initiative and share your skills!
How will I help?
Volunteering at the Marchmont Community Centre will help older people come to grips with new technology and provide them with the skills to access all the benefits IT brings.
Your volunteering role will include:
• Working one-to-one with older people to identify their interests and help them gain the skills to find their way online.
• Setting up the space and serving tea.
• Answering questions and taking on the role of a patient, friendly mentor.
You’ll help older people get more out of today’s technology and could open someone’s eyes to a world of possibilities!
