Who will I help?

Intergenerational contact is more effective in tackling loneliness amongst older people than contact with their own age group.

North London Cares run a social club every Wednesday in Kentish Town and Thursday in King's Cross for older people and young professionals to hang out, share stories, a meal and laugh together. For most of the older people that attend, it’s the only time they socialise and interact with others, so help to make it count!

The real value of this volunteering is based on the interaction with older neighbours.

How will I help?

Volunteer at North London Cares to make your smile and company go a long way in tackling loneliness amongst older people.

You may find yourself helping out with:

• Participating in activities such as dancing or playing board games
• Chatting over a cup of tea
• Going on trips to local places

Your patience and willingness to spend time talking to someone, having a giggle and sharing your stories will spread a lot of happiness.
