Broadening horizons at Drive Forward Foundation

Linz Darlington | 30 October 14

I spent an afternoon volunteering with young care leavers at their weekly Job Club, run by Drive Forward Foundation in St Paul’s. Drive Forward is a great charity, that provides young people with help and support when going through the often complicated transition from care leavers to independent adults.

The young people using the Job Club were great fun to spend time with and I enjoyed hearing their views and opinions. I was able to use the experience I’ve gained in my working life to talk to them about what they wanted to do in the future and encourage them to broaden their horizons when thinking about what career options might be available to them.

Drive Forward is a great charity, proving help and support at what is often a crucial turning point in young people’s lives. I’d highly recommend volunteering with them and would encourage people to use their professional skills to give young people the best start to their future.
